excuse my absence... I was too busy eating on Thursday to post. We had a Cinqo de Maio (sp?) potluck at work. Which means that the copy room was filled with Enchiladas, Tacquitos, bean & cheese dip, salsa, tortilla chips, donuts, lumpia and other things that I can't remember. Everyone starts eating as soon as the food is put out so by 9am I was in a food coma and it went down hill from there.
Friday evening I went for a hair cut. I decided to try a slightly different style since I'd had the other one for over a year and a half. I don't know if I like the new style. It's supposed to be rocker chic but on me it just looks 80s. And not in the throwback hipster kind of way. More in the 'i'm stuck in a time warp' kind of way. I know that we're all our own worst critics so I'll give it a week or so. When I was trying to explain my feeling of eightiesness to friends I said that with the haircut & the zit I felt like Kristy McNichol. "Wait", a friend said, "Kristy McNichols had zits?" And then I realized I had let out my secret. That whenever I have a large zit I like to think of it as a mole. See, if it's a zit then whenever I look in the mirror the zit is all I will see and I'll be self conscious of it all the time. If it's a mole then I can look beyond the zit and I can talk to people without worrying about it. They say that self confidence is everything... so what if I have to trick myself into having some? So yes... with my haircut & pretend mole I feel like Kristy McNichol. Now if only I could save my brother from that cult.
I'll help ya out with the spelling...Cinco de Mayo. We missed you this weekend!!! Hope you had a good one!

I thought everyone knew that Cinco de Mayo was to celebrate Mexico getting to enjoy a fifth of mayonnaise after a heavy night of drinking beer and condiments. Also, isn't "Sarah B." copyrighted elsewhere on the Internets?

Waitaminnit, you are way too young to know who Kristy McNichol is (I could swear she's not on any of those "I Love the 70s" shows on VH1 and I've seen em all), and where's the pic of your haircut?
