We'll it's officially non-posting week here at Run on Sentences, but I guess I just blew that one didn't I? It's amazing how busy the week is when you try to do 5 days worth of work in 3 days. Coincidentally, it's also piss off my coworkers week. Well, piss them off more than usual. I managed to get two of the yesterday & two of them today. It's part of my job to be tough on the sales guys, but what worries me is that I'm starting to enjoy it. he he he (insert maniacal laugh here)
The baby sweater is seamed and awaiting some mystical closure device that I haven't decided on yet. I'm about halfway through with the bonnet so I'll have to decide on the closures soon. I don't have any holiday weekend plans as of yet, so I'm hoping to knit my way through 'til Tuesday and come out with some finished items. And possibly a clean apt, but I won't push my luck.
The visit home was nice and too short. If flights weren't so expensive I'd go back a lot more often. My grandfather seemed to enjoy having everyone there, but I think we wore him out. I didn't get a great picture of him, but here's a badly cropped pic of him opening his presents and joking with my mom. See the sparkle in his eye?
I bought champagne to have a toast, because when you turn 95, that's an event worth toasting. My brother opened the first bottle and assigned me the task of pouring & passing out the glasses (while he went to find the candles for the cake). The first bottle went quickly so I went to open another. Perhaps I shouldn't have tried to open my first bottle of champing ever with my entire family in the room... The pop was more explosive than I anticipated, with the cork flying up, hitting the blinds and then the window with a thud. Everyone turned to look at me and then laughed. Luckily nothing was broken (i.e. the window) and the kids loved it. For once they weren't the loudest ones in the room.
